How it came to be
The website name may be new but the work is not. The first iteration of Digisciple was known as Missional Media and was established in 2010 as a resource to those in the ministry seeking support and knowledge surrounding media for ministry purposes. Digisciple continues that tradition by offering articles, a smorgasbord of low and no-cost technology tools, and instructional videos. Digisciple also hosts a Facebook page for conversations relating to new content and news/views concerning technology and the church.
Digisciple was created by Rev. Nancy Wilson, an ordained elder in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church. Prior to entering ministry Nancy had owned an operated several businesses, including one that offered consulting to non-profits, educational institutions and churches. Further, she taught computer science at the university level, including computer programming as well as suite of computer applications. From there, she began work in website development and social media. Her goal it to make use of the "tools of the age" to enhance her efforts in ministry and to share those with others desiring to do the same.
